Multiples

New Here: 1st u/s today

TWO SACS!!!!

I knew there would be a chance of multiples but I guess I was naive in thinking "not me".

There they were, 2 sacs. My heart started racing, not sure if I wanted to scream or cry, my eyes got watery (not sure out of happiness or what).  Dr. said next week we'll be able to see both yolks to officially confirm but there are DEF two sacs. Wow. just wow.

Leaving the office DH was not happy at all. He began to freak out. "How are we going to afford and care for two babies? We don't have enough room! We won't be able to do this!".

I'm sure there is a possibilty that next week the other sac "disappears" but how do you cope with the fact that it's baby..TIMES TWO!

  • congrats and welcome!! Your husband will come around. Mine freaked out too.
  • Congrats and Welcome!  My new thought process since finding out its twins, "It will all work out!"
  • Congratulations! MH has had the same reaction yours had.  And to be honest, there have been times where I have thought the exact same things.  We are taking it one day at a time.  There is so much you can't plan for.  But we are trying to do the best we can to prepare for them to come.

  • Congrats!  We were nervous about getting pg the first time- would we have enough money, enough space, how would we work around daycare, etc.  People say that if you wait to have a baby until you have 'enough' money, you'll never have one!  So, we just said the heck with it and got pg.  That was pretty much our philosophy this time, too, we just weren't expecting twins!  But, like a PP said, it will all work out!  I'm not sure how, but it will, and eventually, we will probably forget what it was like to have only one kid.  GL!
  • Just wanted to say congrats and welcome.
  • congrats and welcome to our board you will deal with it once the shock wears off it is an awesome experience everything will work out.
  • Congrats! We all know what a shock it is the first time you see those two sacs- especially if you weren't really expecting it. I sobbed in the OB's office when he counted two sacs, filled with every emotion at the same time. It's a wonderful blessing!!
