Snarky and T-TTC

I'm now convinced our microwave is possessed.

several times lately this has happened:  you stick something in, close the door.  Before you can enter the cook time, the light inside comes on and the rotating plate starts spinning.  But no motor comes on, and no buttons will work (cancel, punching numbers, nothing).   Only thing that will stop it is opening the door.

The day of my 3hour glucose thing.  I asked DH not to cook my bacon that morning - that I would do it when I got home (I wanted it fresh).   Called him from hospital and he said he cooked it.  Ugh!   Now it'd be all old and "dry".   He stuck it in the microwave just to sit until I got home.   When I got home (2 hours later), the light was on and it was spinning away in there with no motor - but the plate and bacon were nice and really warm.  Almost hot.    Freaky!

oh, and the damnn thing likes to turn off for no reason when you do manage to get it to turn on properly.   I'll set something for, lets say, 1 min. 30 secs.    21 secs later - Ding!    No!  you're not done.  Cook my stuff.

  • I think you have a playful ghost, who nicely wanted your bacon to be good.

But uh, otherwise, I agree with PMarie.

  • We just bought a new one in December because ours was doing something similiar.  Not as possessed though.  I also used it as an excuse to get one with a popcorn button.  Ours was so old it didn't have one.
