I was just thinking this way I could put more stuff like snacks, boppy, etc.in one bag. I had originally planned to go out and buy a new overnight/duffle bag but I'm thinking I can just use what I have. Suggestions?
I had planned on using one only because with my ViaCord box I have no room. But now I'm just carrying it and the Boppy separately from a duffel. I can't bring myself to roll a suitcase in! I'm sure it's been done before though.
I'm bringing a rolling suitcase. I bought tons of snacks for my support people (not to mention all the other stuff for me and baby girl) and there is no way in he!! that I'm going to be carrying it in a bag while going through contractions. I've also decided DH will not be carrying it either because he will be supporting me and my mom has a bad back so our best bet is a rolling suitcase.

ROFL. I feel the same way but I like putting everything in one bag opposed to carrying 10 million things.
I haven't even started packing my bag yet, but I'm sure that's what we'll be using. I keep looking at my list of things to pack, and I know we'll need to use ours...maybe even that and a backpack or something.
Our stuff is packed in a rolling (carry-on) suitcase and the extra stuff is in a duffel bag. I don't think I packed a lot, but everything is so bulky - the boppy pillow, my robe, etc.
All the departing moms and dads we saw leaving L&D as part of our hospital tour were using them. I think it will be easier than carrying 4 different bags.
If you are going to get laughed out of L&D then I am too. I am using my rolling suitcase that is slightly larger than my rolling carry on. I don't want to pack a bag for labor, a bag for baby, a bag for DH and a bag for me so I figured why not combine it into one big bag. It seemed like a better idea than forgetting something
When we went through the childbirth class, the nurse told us to back one bag for things you'll need duing labor, and a separate bag of things you'll need for the rest of your stay, so I think I'm just going to do 2 smaller duffles.
Hmm.. all of you seem to be bringing carry on suitcases. This is the bigger one. I might just stick with a bigger duffel bag and then pack a diaper bag for the baby.
I'm using a rolling suitcase (not a carry-on size!) for me and DH. I just want everything in one place, so I'll be rolling in looking like I'm staying for a week But, I also am packing a robe that takes up a lot of room.
We brought one bag for the two of us, but we've always been light packers. I left the Boppy and all post-birth stuff in the car until I needed them. I got moved to a different room after I had the baby, so the less stuff you have to keep track of, the better. Also my recovery room was pretty small, so I'm glad we only had one little bag.
One thing I would highly recommend bringing is your own towel. The ones they give you for the shower are tiny and hard! My big fluffy towel made my post-birth shower very nice.
