Snarky and T-TTC

Hi all

i am about to start my 6th month ttc, and wanted to ask a question.  I have really bad spotting issues throughout my cycles.  My doctor said that my spotting shouldn't prevent me from becoming pregnant, and that confuses me.  Everything I have read makes it seem like all this spotting = low progesterone which in turn means implantation issues and therefore no viable pregnancy.  I should probably lurk first, but do any others have spotting issues?

I just went to the doctor yesterday and had blood taken for a serum progesterone test.  I am hoping to get the results back today.  Thanks for any input or advice.

  • i have spotting issues.  but my progesterone blood work came back normal, however my RE put me on progesterone supps b/c of the spotting.  while i'm on the supps i don't have spotting issues.

however, i also recently had a lap and this is my first cycle post lap.  so maybe post-lap + progesterone = no spotting for me.  who knows. maybe the spotting was just from endo and the no spotting this cycle means the lap worked.

everyone is really different.  i was really frustrated at the spotting i was having - i felt like i had AF all the time. i think you can be a good judge of what should be "normal" and what appears off.

    see...i can be nice.

  • I don't have spotting issues, but I would ask your doc again after the progesterone results come back.  It would be worth it to me to try that, and if you don't feel you get a satisfactory answer, to seek a second opinion.  I'm surprised that it was so easily dismissed - I assume you don't know why the spotting is occuring.  There are several things that could cause that, most of which have the potential to interfere with conception/implantation/successful pregnancy.
