I had a miscarriage 9/8/08 at 10 weeks so had my D&C on 9/9/08. We waited 1 cycle before we started trying again like the doctor said to do and nothing has happened yet. This month I just started tracking my BBT but I have noticed I have really had NO CM since having that D&C. Is it possible that I may not be ovulating? I am almost 33 and not sure how much longer I should wait before going back to the doctor with concerns.
Re: Not ovulating after a missed misacarriage?
It is definitely possible not to ovulate after a m/c, but I wouldn't go by CM alone to judge that. Your body can change in all sorts of ways, and you may have less CM but still ovulate. Can you tell by your temps whether you ovulated?
I'm actually picking up TCOYF at the libarary today to reread... I remember that it had a section on TTCAL so I'm eager to go over that section.
Cycles can vary alot too, especially with stress. It's possible that even if you don't ovulate around when you normally do that you still will eventually. I'd keep charting...
Well, you could have a delayed ovulation too. But if you don't see a temp shift before you get your next period, you can probably figure it was an anovulatory cycle for you.?
I had a missed m/c in June and didn't ovulate for 3 months. When I finally did, we miraculously caught the egg and got pregnant again.
During those three months my fertility signs were messed up, esp. my bbt. My CM seemed to be missing too, although when I did ovulate I had two days of EWCM which clued me in.
Ovulation can be messed up for months after a m/c. I'm sorry - it sucks. Given your age, I doubt your doc would do anything. I am 37 and when I had my 3 month "dry spell" the doc told me to give it 6 months. If nothing changed, then I should come back in. Luckily, two weeks after that conversation my ovaries woke up. I hope yours will too - very soon.
P.S. I'm back in that boat again, so I feel your pain. I really do!
