It's listed as a class at one of the dance schools I'm looking at for Bella. I could never pole dance for DH, let alone in a class full of people. Good for people who have that self confidence, though!
I have heard its a lot of fun. A friend of mine has a pole in her and her dhs bedroom. (its one that can be put up and then taken down when needed) She isnt the thinnest person either but its something her husband is into so she does it and has fun with it. She bought a dvd because we dont have dance studios around here that teach pole dancing. (guess she could go to the local stripe joint and learn from the pros)
I could do it if I thought it was something dh would be into. We talked about it when Mary got her pole and he said he just wasnt into that. So, none of that for me but I so would if he would like it.
I wish my gym did something like that! I'd LOVE it. I am, finally, at a point in my life where I can take myself less seriously, and can laugh at myself. DH would freaking LOVE it if I did something like that!
It was an AMAZING work out and very empowering! ?I do not have a ton of confidence or anything. ?The class room is dimly lit and it's mostly yoga/pilates work for like an hour, but done very slowly. No one is paying any attention to you--there are no mirrors on the walls, etc. ?And then you learn or practice a trick on the pole. ?
I loved it! I wish we could afford for me to take a whole series--I just went for an open house free class. ?
So. much. fun. ?I will definitely be enrolling in classes when/if I ever have another baby to lose the baby weight (and whatever's still left over from um, almost 3 years ago.)?
Belly dancing is so fun and a really great workout! It built up my confidence, I was walking straighter, my body felt more relaxed, and my coordination greatly improved! I took it for about 3 years and now I sort of lead an informal group of women in it - more for sh!t and giggles. You'll love it!
As for pole dancing - I'm up for trying anything! (well, not anything - but I'd try pole dancing!)
Re: Could you take a pole dancing class?
yes..... as long as I took 3-4 of my closest friends. I think it would be fun..
My friend owns a studio and she does the "stripper" classes and she says that it is soooooooooooooo much fun to watch everyone have a good time.

The only way that there would be a chance of me doing it would be if I had a whole lot to drink. I'm not good in the dance department, pole or not
LOL--Co, yeah, the Y probably wouldn't be the place to find a pole-dancing class. ?
I took a class through this place: ?https://www.sfactor.com/
