We are having our "how to make a baby in a lab" class next week, but I have a question.
Is there really no way for you to give yourself shots?
There is a chance that my DH's lab is going to go on strike. If so, then he will have to stay at the lab 24/7 until the strike is over because he is management. Seriously, they are brining in cots. The last strike lasted 3 months. We will know on Saturday what will happen.?
He is going to make a deposit this week to be frozen, just in case. This would mean that he would not be around to give me shots. Can I give them to myself or do you really need someone else? ?
?Let me know if it is better to post this on the TTTC board.??
Re: IVF Shots Question...
i gave myself all of my own shots- in fact, there was no way my husband was getting near me with a needle.
they're very simple SC shots & you are more than able to give them to yourself. even the PIO can be done on your own.

(coming over from TTTC)....
I had a nurse lined up to give me the shots and when we finally get this babymaking party on the road she will be doing it-I am fine with the pens. Its the pio that scares me-another RN told me she would be afraid I would hit a nerve and get sciatica. I know a ton of girls do it themselves, I just cannot do the IM for pio.
Wow, that must be tough! 3 months!!
I don't know anything about the shots, but I think I've heard of others giving them to themselves. I'm sure you'll get some knowledgeable answers here.
I'm sorry that you might be in that situation, though. It sounds like it could be difficult to go through all of that alone.
Yup, like pp's said, you can do them yourself. I hope they don't strike, and if they do, that it's only a short time.
Good luck!

I did all my own shots in the tummy on our first 3 IUI's.
DH only did the shots when it was moved to upper arm for shot location for IUI's #4 and #5.
I also did all six of my own triggers (one of those I did at Disneyland).

Have I told you lately that you rock? ?
DH does the majority of my shots but that's more so that he's participating than anything. I have done them myself and it's really no big deal.
Now the PIO? That's trickier although some girls even do those themselves.
