Pack n Play?

I am having a really hard time with the pack n play. Whats the difference between a pack n play and a portable playyard? They look identical! Are you definitely going for a Graco or are you venturing out to another brand?

Re: Pack n Play?

  • We registered for a Graco PNP. I'm not sure of the differences, but I liked the features and reviews of the Graco PNP.

  • We bought a graco pack n play. I am not sure of the difference either but I was told by a few people that graco is highly recommended and has good ratings.

  • I'm going with the Graco Pack 'n Play! I just wish the pattern I like came in the style that I like, but it will work for trips to grandma's!
  • We're doing the Chicco PNP (one for our apt. and one for my mom's house, which is 9 hours away for now and will live closer when we buy a house after the baby's born and she'll watch the baby a lot.....the inlaws aren't getting one, probably, which is fine b/c we don't plan on spending a lot of time at their place anyway)
  • i want one of the packnplay's with the bassinet and changing table feature.
  • I have no advice on this. But your puppy - is it a puggle? We have one and he is 2 now - crazy dogs, but so cute and lovable!
  • My friend has a Chicco one and loves it. I am debating between that one and a Graco one. Both have all the features I want (bassinet and changing table) and are about the same price.
  • Hm, I dont know either. I just looked at the one I registered for (bc I liked the way it looked) and its called a Pack n Play Portable Playard. So I dont know if there really is a difference.
  • I originally thought I wanted the Chicco, esp since we are going with the Chicco travel system, but I hate the way the mobile goes over the entire bassinet. You can't even get to the baby! I am definitely leaning more towards the Graco version.

anwadas- yes, he is a pugle! Rocky will be 2 in July and he is our baby!! He is very active, but I wouldn't trade him for anything!!

  • Go for the Graco.  We got another brand, high-end too and dear Lord, did we regret it.  It was impossible to put up and take down.  I ended up buying the cheapo Graco anyway and that's what we use now for travel and such.
