3rd Trimester

How are you organizing your DC dresser?

I still have no idea how or what I am putting in the dresser drawers!

I have three drawers and only the top one has dividers in it.  I am planning on putting the diapers/wipes and socks and onesies in the top drawer, but I don't know what to do with the other two!

Help!

Re: How are you organizing your DC dresser?

  • I did NB/0-3 outfits in the middle drawer and then all "other" in the bottom drawer, but grouped into ages.

  • You'll need one for sleepers since you will have lots of those. Another one for pants/shirts or outfits. We ended up doing onesies/socks in one, sleepers in another, pants in another and one piece outfits in the last drawer. Then we hung up shirts and dresses. She is a girl so she has a lot of stuff already and her dresser is already way too small I found!

  • We bought drawer organizers from Ikea for the top two of the three drawers.  I didn't want to use an entire drawer for diapers and supplies, so we bought some baskets at Ikea that are hanging on the back of the door.  They hold all of the diapers, wipes, creams, etc.  I think it'll work well!

  • I have one of those hanging diaper things that comes with my bedding set so that's where I'll be keepin them.  I was just going to put the wipe dispencer on top of the dresser next to the changing pad.  I have 3 drawers, too.  I was thinking socks and onsies in the top, pj's and sleep sacks in the middle, and clothes in the bottom.  I will try to hang a lot of things up, too.  There is also a cabinet on the right with 3 shelves.  That is probably where I will keep receiving blankets, burp cloths, and small blankets.

I don't have the furniture yet, but that is what I was thinking.  We'll see...good luck!

  • Top drawer: a basket with socks and mittens (for those claws that I'll be too afraid to cut!) and another basket with washcloths. Also the hooded bath towels, hats and some extra diapers

Middle drawer: receiving blankets and regular blankets

Bottom drawer: crib sheets, extra blankets that I don't care for (from his Mom who saved my DH and SIL's receiving blankets from when they were infants, ugh).

I am hanging all of the clothes.

  • I have socks/mittens/hats and all that little stuff in one small drawer on top.  Big middle drawer I have all her onesies on the left, and sleepers on the right.  Bottom big drawer is separate pants and shirts.  I hung all her outfits in her closet, and the nicer things are hung in the armoire.  We'll see how this system works after she's here though. • I have three huge deep drawers so the top drawer is diapers, wipes, etc..

For the second and third drawers we got drawer organizer from Ikea as well that are vinyl boxes that come in different shapes and sizes. The middle drawer is all the new born clothes, and third drawer is 0-3 and some 0-6 month stuff. I got a ton of hand me downs that DS won't fit for quite awhile so all those are folded in a hanging orgainzer I got at Ikea as well.

  • 1st drawer - 1st row nb pjs, 2nd row 0-3 pjs, 3rd row the back has more 0-3 front has swaddlers, 4th row has blanket sleeper things
