Help - Daycare has a recalled block!

You know those Baby Einstein soft blocks that all the kids have.  Well, the blue turtle one was recalled a while back.  I saw today that my in-home daycare provider has that one.  Should I call her now to tell her that it has been recalled because of excessive lead levels?  I'm freakin out because I saw Sam grab for them this morning when I was there.  I got to work to google the recall because I wasn't sure if it the same blue one that she has.  Well, it is.  And now I'm freakin out.

    I would call right away and let her know that it caught your eye this morning, you checked and that is indeed the recalled block. I would also give her the recall website and tell her that she should review it to ensure that none of the other toys she has have been recalled. As a DCP, she needs to be up to date this.

    Just call and let her know.  I'm sure she won't have an issue w/ it and wouldn't use it if she knew about the recall.

    Call and inform them about the block - helpfully, not aggressively. It's a simple thing for them to remove. You could offer to give them any info you find online, too. Don't freak out Smile

    Not all of the blue turtle blocks are recalled.  Only blue ones from the sets with certain lot numbers.  If you search for the recall online you can find the numbers and they should be on the tag for the green block.  I just checked the set I have and it includes a blue turtle block but the lot number doesn't match the recall.  I'd give you the lot numbers but my DD needs food or I'm in for a meltdown!

    I have a set of these blocks too, but I just bought them in September 2008, so I'm guessing they're not affected by the 2007 recall... Perhaps they're a newer set of blocks?

    Whew, I just called and she said that she doesn't have the recalled block.  She read off the number to me and it wasn't one of them.

     For those that are wondering, these are the numbers of the recalled block.  There should be a tag on the green block.  Recalled model numbers - 30726 and 30881 with date codes of GE7, GF7 and GG7.
