Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Cries extra hard for me

This morning I was getting ready for work, and Quentin woke up. DH went to get him and was changing his diaper when Quentin caught a glimpse of me. As soon as he saw me, he started crying hard and reaching his arms out saying "Mumm...Mommm...Mammmmma!"
He has been doing this recently like he only wants me. Sure, he loves his daddy and has fun with him too, but is always extra clingy to me.
Does your DC do the same??

Re: Cries extra hard for me

  • DS can't say "Mama" yet but he cries if I leave the room or I have to hand him of to DH.  On the one hand I think it's really sweet he loves his Mommy so much but it kinda stinks if I have something I need to do.

  • Yep, DS is a total mama's boy!
  • mrs.george2be04-

That's exactly how I feel. I can't get anything done when he's awake and around me (styling my hair, getting dressed, housecleaning, etc). I have to wait until his nap time, or if DH takes him somewhere. But, yes, it's flattering that he loves me that much. ; )

  • It's TOTALLY normal for  this age.  K does the same thing.

  • Yes, Leah is doing this a lot recently and I love that she loves me that much. Although, it is a lot harder to get things done these days.

  • Yep, usually. I am home pretty much all day with him except for the 4 hours I go to work in the afternoon. My MIL watches him (they live upstairs) 3 days of the week while I go to work and usually when I get home I go upstairs because we have dinner together and the minute he sees me I have to take him from MIL or FIL because if I don't he starts to cry & whine and reach for me. I think it's great that he is good with them and is fine to stay with them and DH too but once he sees me, he wants me =)

  • Yes, dd is the exact same way. I am glad, in a way--it shows healthy attachment and trust, right?

    ?

Ah-ha...Maybe it's just an age/milestone thing. It now all makes sense.?

  • Yes, but its's "papa...paaaapaaa....papa!!!" (what she calls DH).  This morning we had to go to the mirror in the bathroom and say "hi to the baby" for a distraction while DH left because she will cry for 10 minutes whenever he leaves and she is in the room.   ***Sigh***  She's never done this for me.
