Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Another traveling question

Sorry, Ladies, another traveling question for you.  We have a lightweight umbrella stroller and a medium (full-sized) stroller.  DS doesn't necessarily like either one because he likes to be down and walking.  Anyway, which do you recommend taking to the Keys for a 15 month old?  We were planning to take the umbrella stroller because we will be traveling with a total of 9 people, including a 3 year old, so there will be a lot of luggage and probably another stroller (we are renting 2 cars).  But I also read a tip in a bio about using the stroller for sleeping by the pool, and obviously the bigger one would be better for that, but note that DS usually only sleeps in his crib, so I don't know if he will even sleep in the stroller.  WHat do you think?  I can't decide.  TIA!

Re: Another traveling question

  • i would take the lightweight one...we recently went on vacation with dd and brought our maclaren...a full-size stroller would have been too heavy and bulky and we found no need for it while there.

  • Lightweight. You won't regret it.  Especially if he won't benefit from napping in it.

My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.
  • Lightweight.  We let DS nap in a little beach tent that we bought.  You could also just use a towel under an umbrella

  • I also agree with the umbrella stroller.  We bought a really cheap one from BRU to take to the beach with us.  That way if we got sand in it and messed it up, we wouldnt be out anything.  DD refuses to sleep in her umbrella stroller so we bought a little beach tent for her to play in the shade and nap in.  She loved it, and it was so easy/small to pack.  We got the tent from BRU for like $30
  • I would say go with whichever is appropriately sized for luggage and a rental car.  Otherwise go with what you like best.
