So like I said, our lawyer had filed all of the paperwork for terminating parental rights, and I guess he also sent her a letter with the same "demands" which were simply terminate your rights and have no future contact with the children.
She called him yesterday and asked if he could meet her today. Yep, on a Sunday. I think because she thinks it will cost more for us, when in reality I think we have already paid for 3/4 of his retirement. Sorry no point to saying that. That was simply a rant.
But anyways she signed the papers. Just signed her kids away with a fight. He is going to file THESE papers as soon as the courthouse opens on Monday morning. I am speechless that she did this so easily. Usually she just makes everything diffiult. So I am not really sure what happens next, I guess we just wait to see what the court does with these papers, but since it was a weekend, it seems pretty clear that she had to go out of her way to meet with him and it wasn't just a fluke type thing that she did it.
Hubby and I are thrilled for the boys, but we are going to wait until everything is all said and done in court before we tell them. Our lawyer said that if this went to trial, they may have to testify, so they were prepared and now they may not have to which would be ideal. We really didn't want to put them through that. But then again, I don't know what is worse, being with her unsafe, or tesitfying. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.
Re: Wow.
That is great!
I'm crossing my fingers that BM will do the same with us. But I doubt it.
