Hopefully some of you will remember my introductory post but if not here is a quick recap of me. DH and I hit the 6 mo mark of ttc, he was diagnosed 3 years ago with testicular cancer and now has only one testicle - as a result we were given a 'free pass' straight to an RE but we chose to wait and try on our own. I have since had only 4 cycles in 6 months... something that is very new, I used to be a 27-31 day girl and am currently on cd 24 or 25 and haven't o'd yet.
Anyway, I will be speaking to my dr this week (about results from a colposcopy, not ttc related) and think it is time to do some testing on me because I think something is off. I am wondering if I have a thyrid/hormone/PCOS issue just because my cycles have gotten progressively longer in just the last few months. My question is, what should I bring with me, be aware of etc when going to speak with him. I am assuming he will run blood tests but is there anything else. I am honestly kind of scared about what all this means and what the possibilities are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Re: I have a question...
If you chart take your charts with you, otherwise I can't think of anything to take along. If you have specific questions, you might write them down ahead of time so that you don't forget to ask them.
If all you're wanting to figure out is if you have PCOS or a thyroid issue they will do bloodwork and an u/s. If you're ready for the full set of tests, they would likely throw in an HSG as well.

Hey there, I remember you.
I think I would bring your charts for sure. Other than that, I think I would write down a list ahead of time of any questions, concerns, or anything that you may have. The appointment can be kind of overwhelming at times with lots of questions, etc... coming up. So having a list to start with helps.
Good luck!

Probably especially if you are thinking about starting any kind of treatment. No sense in taking Clomid with blocked tubes, KWIM

GL! I also would just go ahead and get the full course of tests done. Might as well, since you'll be in and out of the office all month.
Are you already working with the RE, or currently working with your OB? If the latter, I would suggest that you go ahead and take advantage of the "free pass." Different docs do things differently, so, if you're facing heading to the RE anyway, might as well do the testing his/her way. Just a thought...
