GBMC Recommedation?

Hello!

Just found out over the weekend that I am pregnant... GBMC is the closest hospital to my house so I would like to see if anyone can recommend an OB/GYN there.

 Any info on past experiences at GBMC is much appreciated as well!

    first off CONGRATS!

    second... we love love love love GBMC. We live in Catonsville and we drove the 35-45 mins just to deliver at GBMC when i was in labor. 

    i went to the OB/GYN specialists of MD. They are in Timonium off York Road.

    they are a "group" practice so you'll see everyone in rotation, but we love Dr. Kasner and Dr. Asare (Dr. Kasner always seemed to be on duty in L&D when i went to get checked and delivered my daughter)

    GBMC has curb side drop off and Complimentary Valet Parking! We took all of our classes there, but the only one i'd really recomend is the breast feeding class, so great! The food is excelent, i didn't want to go home! everyone was fantastic and so helpful. I have not one bad thing to say about the hospital or the care i received (and we were there quite often in the 3rd tri due to pre term labor)

    I use Dr Supplee, he is really good. He has two offices--one on the GBMC campus and one in Owings Mills. I love GBMC and have heard nothing but good things from other's as well! Good luck!!

    I have a wonderful Dr. that delivers at St. Joes which isn't too far from GBMC, so if you're interested let me know and I'd be happy to give you contact info.

    I actually decided to go with St. Joes!  The Women's Health Associates does Saturday hours too which is GREAT for me.  I'm going with a midwife... very excited!

    I've heard absolutely fabulous things from everyone who has delivered at GBMC (and there are a bunch) except for the lactation department, which I've heard isn't very good or responsive when you're in the hospital. 

    I actually live in Columbia, and my OB/GYN is OB/GYN specialists of MD (I think someone else recommended them) in Lutherville and Owings Mills although I usually see them in Owings Mills.  I really like the practice, which is why I'm staying with them for this pregnancy even though it's kind of a trek for all the appointments.    There are definitely 5 doctors (there might be more), and only one of them doesn't deliver babies, a nurse practictioner, and a midwife.  You meet with all the doctors when you're pregnant, the staff is really nice and friendly, and if you call after hours you're calling a cell phone or something like that, not a phone service - which I really like.
