Well, it happened - I fell down the steps with DD

We were coming down the steps (all wood) and my foot just slipped out from underneath me and we lost it. For some reason we started to fall forward, but I managed to turn to my side and fell down 10 steps on my side and back while managing to not kill my DD. I was terrified that I was going to land on her.

My entire back, butt and both legs are black and blue. I have a couple of brusies on my arm, but thankfully DD is fine. When we got to the bottom, DD goes, We fall down mommy? I told her yes and she goes, you okay mommy? I tell her no and she says, you okay, brush it off. If only were that easy.

I have a Dr. appt. on Monday, and I hope that she doesn't need to see my bruises

  • aww! I won't PIP when Colin and I fell last year the day before Christmas! He got a big fat lip, and I broke my wrist! Stupid Winter.

    Hope you feel better soon!!!

  • Oh no - that sounds so painful! I fell down the stairs while holding DD when I was 11w pg this time. Fortunately I only fell on my butt/lower back down 4-5 carpeted stairs. I couldn't break my fall at all since I was holding DD, but she didn't get hurt, nor did the baby and I was mostly just shaken up.

  • We have carpeted stairs although it's two sets so the top one is only 8 steps total and I fell down when DS was not walking yet, probably 6 months.  It was very scary and luckily I only slid down about 3 steps on my back but DS leaned foward and was very close to landing on his head.
