I thought BPA only applied to bottles, now I'm seeing it on certain spoons, bowls, and sippy cups. When I buy those items, should I make sure it says BPA free on it? I noticed some Gerber products does not say that.
I bought the munchkin spoons b/c they said BPA free. If I specifically bought BPA bottles, I am going to buy other products that are BPA free too. I actually use little glass bowls right now. I got them at target, they are made by anchor. That's what we use for his cereal and baby food.
I just started looking for things purely BPA and if I already owned something that hadn't said it, got rid of them.. I've started to read some horrible things about BPA lately, so I just don't go there now.
We use Boon BPA, PVC and phatalate free spoons and mango wood bowls. Mango wood is an eco-friendly choice - it is a renewable and sustainable source of timber. The trees have a very short life - once they reach full size, they stop producing fruit, so the trees are harvested and turned into goods.
Anyway - I'm babbling :O)
I think it is important to buy products that do no harm to humans and to the environment. I am looking into buying bamboo utensils soon.
Oh, and the Boon spoons are called Benders - they can bend any angle you choose. DD loves them, but I don't love that they are made in China.
