Success after IF

What stroller/carseat did you go for?

I cannot decide between the maxi-cosi foray and the bumbleride indie. My sister (who has 3 kids) told me I should go with the snap and go and a carseat and then another stroller. What are your thoughts?

Re: What stroller/carseat did you go for?

  • we went w/ the safe seat, which is now the snugride 32.  fits in the snap & go.  but we are getting the inglesina zippy stroller and the safeseat will fit right in it.

  • We have the Graco Metrolite travel system - fits the snugride carseat.  We obviously haven't used it yet, but we practice taking it apart, etc - and it seems really easy! Cute patterns too!

  • We're going to be doing the Snap N Go for the time that he's in the infant carrier (Graco SnugRide).  When he grows out of that, we're going to buy the Bumbleride Indie.  I loved it in the store and it looks cute too.  They have a good web site and I've seen a few reviews online too.

  • we have a maxi cosi carseat and the quinny stroller.  The cool part is that the seat on the quinny comes out and the maxi goes in.  Once they have outgrown the infant seat, you put the regular stroller seat in and you're good for years!

  • We're doing what your sister suggested. We bought a SnugRide seat and registered for the snap n go frame. I'm not a fan of the big travel systems, but that's just me! So we'll go this route initially and then decide on another stroller later.

  • We got the Chicco Key Fit and a Snap & Go.  Then we were going to get the Chicco Cortina stroller (b/c we're tall).  Then we realized that the Cortina comes with the Key Fit in the travel system, so we just chose the whole travel system plus the snap & go.  I don't plan to use the stroller for a while unless it's just to take walks around the neighborhood.  I probably won't take it shopping and stuff since the snap & go is easier.
  • We bought the combi shuttle seat with the combi helio stroller.  I knew that having a baby in December in Michigan meant that I would probably not be using the stroller much in the first 4 months. I also didn't want the huge travel system.  So far I'm pretty happy with it.  The stroller goes up to 55lbs and reclines all the way.. it's only like 13lbs so it's really light and I have no problem hauling it around by myself.  The carset fits in it just like it would a full size travel system.  I have it in wasabi and I love it so far.

  • we have the babytrend travel system, it's a jogging stroller and regular stroller.  WE LOVE IT! It's so easy to get the carseat in and out of (andsame with the car) and the stroller is SO easy to use/maneuver/take down etc.

I think it was $229 from BRU.

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • We are going with the Graco snug ride and the Baby Jogger City Mini.  I like the BJCM because it accomodates an infant, so I feel like we have options without the bulk of a travel system.  Plus the BJCM one handed fold is amazing!

  • I think your sister's advice is great. Get the Snap N Go at first, use it awhile and then get your other stroller. By then you'll know how/if the Bumbleride fits in your lifestyle, or if you should look for something else. Strollers are expensive. You kinda wanna make the right decision with one, not feel like you have to put up with features because you made the choice before knowing how you'd use it.
  • I believe we are going to get the Graco Snugride and the stroller frame to start out with and then either the Metrolite stroller or Chicco Cortina stroller after the baby is out of the infant seat.
