Yeah I was taken aback to say the least.

Funny story, my friend's cat is actually named Max. So her 3 year old DD now is telling the cat that "mommy's friend named her baby after you". Too cute

I have a Max too (my DS, not my dog). There are so many people names that people use for their dogs now too. If I had to pick a name that couldn't be used for a dog ... my child would probably be nameless.

I think that Max is actually a human name that people use for dogs. There are lots of girls with our dogs name and it doesn't mean that they have a dogs name. People sometimes have no filter.
