So I know that having sex can help soften the cervix b/c the ejaculate contains prostaglandins. This might be a weird question, but after having sex, do you need to lie there for awhile so the ejaculate can sit on the cervix for awhile?
The ejaculate can stay in you for up to five days, even if he pulls out right away. (Which is why having sex leading up to, but not exactly during, ovulation can get you pregnant.)
I get my prostaglandins from a different triage nurse every day, because I'm easy like that, and I have to lay there for an hour to let the medicine absorb.
I don't know if that helps, but if it were me I'd probably use it as an excuse to take a post-coital nap.
