3rd Trimester

**kristinhart511**

just saw your 'rumble' post. you could always go over to 0-6 Mod style and introduce yourself w/ your dukes up.

(and before anyone gets their panties in a twist, its a joke, not a dig on Mod.)

But i'm really posting to ask, dont you go to AAW? Why are they letting you go so far past your due date? As you know a lot of ladies from the DE board go to AAW and we were all told no more than a week overdue and they'd induce.

I'm just curious - hope you dont mind me asking.

Good luck!

  • hi!  yes i do go to aaw, they are awesome!  they are letting me go this long bc my due date was moved up in the beginning.  everything looks good in there, baby is not in stress or anything.  i dont mind the questions at all.  :)  0-6 scares me!  sorry it took me so long to answer, i was writing my acceptance speech!

so you went to AAW?  when did you move to louisiana?

  • LOL oh the LA thing is a joke. I got banned a few weeks ago under my MommaBrown screen name for being naughty toward a user called Chalmette (thus Chalmette, LA is now my home). I meant to mention who formerly was. But I am still in DE :)

I love AAW! My BFF just got pg and I am trying to convince her to switch OB's. She tells me she is happy where she is and i say Oh but you will be happier there! haha

dont let 0-6 scare you. it can get snarky but nothing you havent seen before - just the subject matter is different. the only really scary thing about 0-6 is that once you are there, you know you have a real live baby in your house. ;) that's more frightening to me than any snark that is dished out!

  • I super ph AAW.  I'm surprised they let you go past a week, but even more suprised that they moved your EDD.  Even when I was measuring over 3 weeks ahead, they didn't move mine, lol.

Also, why they didn't send you to L&D with your high BP?  How high was it?  They take BP very seriously there... trust me... I was induced at 38 weeks because of it.  Perhaps it wasn't high enough to be concerned?

I hope you LO comes soon!  I couldn't imagine being 42 weeks PG.

  • oh i have heard about this chalmette person!!!! this banning crap SUCKS!  its like book censorship!!! what the hell!  your friend should switch, aaw is hands down, the best practice i have ever been to.  momma brown- you sound familiar now, weren't we chatting about how awesome dr. mccracken looked right after having her baby?

it is so surreal that i will have a real live baby in the house in about three days! weird weird weird!!!!!!!!!!! im excited but also really scared for labor and delivery.  but also, again, i have heard everyone at aaw has had an awesome experience.

how was your l&d experience?  was it good also?

yah i was worried about that too! but when the nurse came and got me i guess i looked like i was going to die bc i was having contractions the entire time- then she asked if i was ok.  when she said my bp was high, i asked her if it is something to worry about bc i know it can be really serious and she kind of goes "no no, you're fine, you're in a lot of pain that's probably why it was high."

my old OB moved my due date.  i didn't go to AAW untill 20-22 weeks bc i moved from alabama to DE.

  • Ahhh, it all makes sense now.

I love the nurses there :)  Oh, and don't be nervous about L&D... my expereience was so wonderful.  I had a great nurse there and McCrackin delivered Carter.  She's amazing.

  • he is so cute!!! i guess the only reason im nervous is bc i haven't been through it before... you know, fear of the unknown.  i am very anxious to get it all over with.
  • yup! that was me :)

my L&D experience was awesome! Everyone at Christiana is so sweet. I didnt run into one person i didnt like. Even the cleaning people were sweet as pie to me.

and dont be too nervous about delivery. if you are getting an epi it will be a breeze!

    a few tips:

christiana does not have a nursery and the baby stays in-room with you. But if you are desperate for sleep sometimes the night nurses will take your baby for a few hours. Thats only if they are not busy though.

this one is a little silly. they will try to suggest formula but they are not super pushy about it. but even if you are BFing, let them bring the formula in and ask for similac. You will get the best diaper bag ever before you leave. I kid you not. Its the simplest little black bag and i thought i'd never use it. I use it ALL THE TIME.

if you dont have a C/S they dont really openly offer any pain meds other than tylenol. But you can ask for percocet and you'll probably get it.

if you have a laptop bring it. you can connect to their wi-fi. if you dont, you can access the internet via the tv.

try to get as much sleep as you can in the hospital, because you wont be getting it at home! haha

  • thank you so much for the info!! i am definitely getting an epidural.  i am really excited to see this diaper bag now!  amazing what insurance covers ;)
