Dear Mother and Father,

As you may well know, I am about to turn 31.  This advanced age should mean that I am not entitled to contact you every single day, especially if nothing is going on.  If I don't call you, please don't blow out my cell phone, message me on Facebook, or post on my Facebook wall.  While I'm trying to get my two year old to go to sleep after ten pm I'm really not concerned with what  you ate for dinner.  Sorry, not trying to beabitch, but seriously.  Yes, it would suck if there were a real emergency, I'm aware of that.  No, I will not leave my cell phone on all night long just so you can call me with your opinion of what Michelle Obama is wearing.

Also, and this is directed at you mother, if I know that you guys are going to a party or out with friends, I'm going to turn my phone off.  I can't deal with drunk-dialing from my parents.  That's just not right.

Again, I'm 31 years old.  And by the way, I just tried to call you.  Did you answer your phone?  Nope.  I imagine you're still asleep seeing as how you were obviously up late based on the messages sent to my Facebook page.

That is all.

Love,

Your Darling Daughter
