Snarky and T-TTC

Introducing myself

Hi.  I will be hitting the six month mark of ttc #1 in a few days, although I am only on my 4th cycle of charting.

My cycles have gotten progressively longer over the 4 cycles (actually  extend to almost 6 months in 4 cycles) so I am suspecting something is wrong, as I used to be 27-31 days (could count -actually planned my wedding date that way!).

DH was diagnosed with testicular cancer 3 years ago, had one testicle removed and finished chemo 2.5 years ago.  I will be talking to my gyn next week about further action since I am suspecting a hormonal issue with me (as I am not positive I am actually ovulating) and he said at an earlier apt he would refer us to an RE whenever we wanted (due to DH - although I was hoping we wouldnt have to go that route).

So I will be more lurking than anything right now to get the feel of the board and may ask a question here and there if that is okay.

Re: Introducing myself

  • Welcome and GL! Lurking is great, you'll get to know the personality of the board and see if this is a group you want to interact with. You will either think this place is the funniest, best spot on the nest, or you will hate us.

  • Lurking is a good idea.
  • Sorry to hear about your husband's ball.
  • I am charting, have been for 4 cycles now, but that is actually why I don't know if I am ovulating.  I have only one chart that shows ovulation out of the 4 - I am currently on 4, cd 22 and haven't o'd yet - that shows o and even that I am not sure I believe.

Sorry, after I posted that I realized you had a chart in your siggy.  I edited my original reply when I saw that.  If you call your hubby the uniballer, you might just be the type personality that likes it over here.

  • I figured.  DH's brother was diagnosed with stage 3 TC four months before DH.  They had the opposite testicles removed and ever since then we tell them they need to stand on the appropriate side to balance each other out!

Honestly, when you go through something like that you HAVE to have a sense of humor!

  • Hi and welcome!

My ex-H was a uniballer. He also had testicular cancer.

  • Hi taagent, I've been hanging out here lately, though I haven't been posting a whole lot.  I'm just not as witty as the rest of the folks here!  It's good to see you, even though I'm sorry you have to be here.
***************************** Our beautiful daughter was born in October 2009. Turns out she was quite the miracle. After two years of TTC, diagnosed with DOR. A couple of failed treatment cycles later, we decided to let go of our hope for more biological children and explore adoption.
