Are they worth it? I have wanted one for as long as I can remember, and can't help but feel I will regret not having one if I don't get one. I would have to work two extra shifts, and I'm so torn. What are your thoughts?
Ours wasn't worth it because he didn't cooperate. But all the 4D pictures I got from other ultrasounds were pretty cool. If I had to work 2 extra shifts to pay for it, I totally would not do it.
My sis got one b/c her hospital automatically did them; no extra charge. I think they're cool, but I wouldn't spend extra money on them. They do sometimes turn out kind of scary.
A bunch of people at my old work told me to do it but DH and I just can't justify spending money on it. Just going to hold out until I actually meet her for the first time.
It was worth the money to me, I thought it was amazing. He didn't cooperate the first time so we got to go back(only charged once) and we got to see so much the second time.I would double check with your place to see their policy on what happens if baby doesn't cooperate. While I loved it, if you don't have to money, I don't think it's a big deal not to get one!

Just not that interested in them! I'd rather wait to see the baby's sweet face at delivery. Of course, we are not finding out what we're having either, so we're sort of into being surprised. Also not willing to pay the extra money. We got a good look at the baby's face during our regular big ultrasound and saw no clefts, etc. If there was any concern from that standpoint I'd do it, but not just for "fun". All that being said, all of my friends who got them were thrilled with the results and so glad they did it!
We have ours tomorrow. At first we weren't going to get it done but then we thought it may be cool and also they were really sure if it was a girl so we are hoping maybe we can see more.
I have gotten a couple of them and loved the experience. It is much differant to see your child moving on the screen than to look at a photo of someone else's u/s
DD#1 was a ham and we got so many great shots of her (paid $100 for about 300 photos and a DVD)
DD#2 was hiding and in a bad position so we got tons of photos but her face was blurred. Because of this we were offered a free rescan. The second scan focused more on her face since we had a better shot and we were able to add some great photos to the first set (paid $100 again and got about 170 good shots and a DVD)
Re: 3d ultrasounds..your opinion?
If you have the money, why not, but I wouldn't bust my butt to have one done.
They are kind of creepy-looking to me.

Clomid M/C 8 weeks 2/08 *IVF #1-DD born 3/09
*Surprise BFP-T18 baby lost at 13w 1/10 *FET #1-DS born 2/11
I agree, if you can afford it then do it cause you want to, if you can't I would put the money towards something you need more.
I can't speak from experience but I would think if you have one done of your own baby the creep factor isn't really an issue.
