so i have to take my first shot next week, follistim and then my trigger shot, ovidrel. did you give yourself the shot or did dh give it to you? im usually ok with needles, but inflicting pain on myself i cant do. so did it hurt?
yikes! i dont know how you ladies did this! i didnt need them the first time, so this is all new to me. thanks.
Re: talk to me about shots please...hormone ones
They don't feel awesome, but they don't really hurt. Some of them burn a little. For me, it was more emotionally hard to have to do that and feeling a little sorry for myself. I honestly never got that good at it. I always chickened out and never got the needle in swiftly. I'd end up with it just pressed against my stomach and have to keep pressing until it went it. It's way harder that way than it needs to be. If you can, just do it.
I did everything on my own except for PIO and delestrogen which were IM shots that DH did.
Good luck. Just remember, you can definitely do this. So many people have. It will be fine, if a little nerve-wracking at first. And I hope you get your BFP right away so you don't need to deal with a million shots.

They don't hurt. ?It is very scary the first time around. ?But it is really nothing when you are doing the little subq shots. ?You'll be o.k
?I hated needles before and technically still do but somehow managed to do them myself. ?My husband only does the IM shots for me.
?
Good luck.?
I'm lurking from over at T-TTC.
My siggestion is to have your H do the first one so you can get an idea of how it will feel - which is close to nothing. It was a lot easier for me doing my own shots after I knew it wouldn't hurt. Good luck - the first one is the hardest!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

WAY better for me to do it myself than for my husband to do it. Follistim is easy, it is a pen and a tiny little needed. You will barely feel it!
Good luck!
