    Grew up in Cincy, undergrad at Miami U and then to The Ohio State University for 4 more.  (now in Alaska).  I miss the buckeye days:(

    Homemade is the best and I admit it's an aquired taste. But I grew up on it. YUM!

    I'm originally from Ohio! I really miss it... My whole family lives in Nelsonville, which is near Athans, two hours straight south of Columbus.

    Goetta is a peasant food of German origin that is popular in the greater Cincinnati area. It is primarily composed of ground meat and oats. Pronounced g?tt-aa, ged-da or get-uh Americanized Pronunciation, this dish originated with German settlers from the northwestern regions of Oldenburg, Hannover, and Westphalia who emigrated to the Cincinnati area in the 19th century. The word "Goetta" comes from the Low German word g?tte.

    Goetta was originally a peasant dish, meant to stretch out servings of meat over several meals to conserve money.

    The modern popularity of goetta in Cincinnati has led to it being called "Cincinnati Caviar". Glier's Goetta, the largest commercial producer of goetta, produces more than 1,000,000 lb (450 metric tons) annually, around 99% of which is consumed locally in greater Cincinnati.

    I'm from Canton. We have lived in Savannah for three years now (Army). DH has an interview at OSU for the MBA program. I'm praying we can move back up there. I miss Ohio so much! Both of our families are in NE Ohio, and they're missing so much of DS. :(

    I lived in Dublin for about 8 years. I miss the shopping down there. My wallet doesn't, though. I worked at OSU Med Center. I think I miss the football tickets most. *sigh*
