Is anyone else out there going thru the same thing I am? I have diabetes and am currently 11weeks preg. This is our third baby. We lost the first two thru miscarriage. I just wanted to find someone to talk to about what Im going thru. I hate giving myself insulin shots everyday! I keep telling myself only 200 more days to go!!
Re: Diabetes and Pregnancy
I dont know what thats like, but stick in there and it will be worth it!! Do you have to do a special diet as well? My client had to and the awesome side of that is she only gained 25 pounds....the downfall is shes afraid she may gain weight after birth because she will want pizza and donuts. etc.
Good Luck!!
I don't have diabetes...but I had Gestational diabetes with DS. It was hard and I understand what you are kinda going through. I was told to cut back carbohydrates and exercise after every meal. With this pregnancy, I'll be tested early and will be monitored closely. They already consider me high risk.
I'm sorry about you loss...I wish you all the luck this time.
I am right there with ya. I have type 1 diabetes but am on the insulin pump so I don't take injections daily. If you don't mind me asking, was diabetes the cause? My sugars are pretty good...A1C of 6.7%, but I have an underlying fear of miscarriage.
Keep in touch! Hope all goes well for you!
I am a type 1 diabetic and this is my second pregnancy. I delivered a healthly baby boy about a year ago, so just remember everything you do is to ensure that outcome, so its worth it. For me knowing that my choices impact someone else directly have made managing diabetes a little bit easier.
My diabetes is actively managed throughout my pregnancy by a high risk OB and my endrocronlogist. I highly reccommend going to both, if you haven't already as pregnancy can do wild things to diabetes.
I am not perfect and not an expect, but I know what its like, so I'm happy to answer any questions or just listen - schorey at gmail dot com.
Take care!
My diabetes is actively managed my a high risk OB and a clinical diabetes educator as well. It's always great to hear positive stories other diabetics go through concerning pregnancy. Everything is ok so far, first ultrasound at 4 1/2 weeks looked great. I go back Tuesday for another and am hoping to see the heartbeat!
