PIP of my poor little beat up ring finger

Re: PIP of my poor little beat up ring finger

  • That's what has been happening to my ring finger too!!!

So bizarre.  It never used to happen but in the last 6-12 months, it has been an issue.

If I get ANY water underneath it (AT ALL) and don't dry it completely, this is what my finger ends up looking like?!?!  What gives!

  • Does it itch? This is what mine looks like if I get soap or water stuck up under my ring (don't get it dry enough after washing my hands).

Looks like it hurts. I'm sorry :-(

  • can you pip your ring(s). ?Some rings can be stretched, so you don't have to cut and add more gold. ?That might help a little
  • WOW.  Thats what mine looked like..only with skin thats like white crusty looking from the burn.  It felt really rough to the touch too.

    Put some neosporin on it!

  • Ouch. Thats strange, I've never seen anything like that.

Mine does the same thing.  It's not so bad if I just wash my hands or something, but if I take a shower with it on, it is awful.

  • I did in the allergy post.  Not my actual rings but what the ridges look like on the band.  The only difference is the gold and the diamonds are round.
  • I get that too.  Its been so bad that its kept me up at night from how bad it itches and burns.  Aquaphor helps a lot.  Is your ring white gold?  I think I read somewhere that its the nickel in it that causes the rash.  I was thinking of having mine redipped so it doesn't happen again.

  • I've put neosporin on it but the best thing that seems to work the most is the intense moisturizing cream from mary kay.
  • Nope, I think that would need to be cut and sized. ?I'd let my finger be naked for a couple of days and see if it will heal.
  • mine do this easily...I have to be diligint about taking them off when I shower, wash my hands, anything.  I also take them off at night.

  • I don't know if it's your ring--my finger looks just like that, but with a bit of crustiness, too. I think maybe the cold weather, getting wet, your skin swelling and shrinking when going from hot to cold, etc, does it. I can't wear my ring some days. Is your ring channel set? The soap, etc. gets into the holes in my ring. As for metal, it's platinum, and that's not supposed to be allergenic at all, which is why I'm thinking it's the channels.

Ditto this. My finger is JUST starting to look better and I have not worn my ring in weeks.
