f/u to DD's allergies

daycare called.  she ate a jar of baby food that had pasta in it and her fingers turned kool-aid red.  I called the pedi to get a referral to a pediatric allergist.  Now I am waiting.

How could she be allergic to pasta and not Cheerios?  Anyone's DC have food allergies?  any words of wisdom?  Thanks for the support from the ladies on that last post.  I'm just really upset over this.  My poor bug.

  • Poor little bug. I have food allergies but not DD, thank God. My allergist is great and hopefully yours will help you find some answers.

  • I'm so sorry! I'm sure that was really scary. I'm sure an allergist will be able to help. Sorry, I don't have any insight/experience but I hope Olivia is feeling better!

  • Oh no!  I hope they can figure out exactly what it is.

  • Wow, I would be really upset too. I hope they figure it out. I have no experience with food allergies whatsoever.
  • You won't want to hear this, but how about egg? DD is allergic to egg. Cherrios are fine, but I have to be VERY careful with pasta. Many are made with egg or processed where things like raviloi and tortellini are processed. The fillings contain eggs. It's quite possible.
  • MOO did O get a flu shot?

Yes and there was no reaction.  Are you thinking about the egg?  I haven't fed her eggs yet just because I wanted to wait so that I could do it in a controlled way.  For some reason I am worried about egg.
