Does prune juice really work for pooping?

I mixed 1 oz of prune juice and 1 oz of water.  DS was like WTF is this and gagged.  I am going to add more water.  He hasnt pooped in about 4 days.  Doc said to try prune juice, but does it really work?  That stuff is disgusting!

  • Yes it really works.  Apple juice is also good.
  • Gerber Punre, Apple or Pear should work.  DD prefers Pear.  We use 1-2 oz, not diluted, when needed (when she hasn't pooped in like 4 days).
  • Yes, it worked GREAT with DD who didn't poo in almost 2 days.  We formula feed, so we added 1oz. with 2oz. of formula, not diluted.  Good luck!  (it did take about 10 hours for her to poo....but boy did she poo...everywhere!)
