How many weeks do you usually have to be to find out the sex of the baby (using a sonogram)? I know it is way too early now, but I am just so excited to find out that it would help me to have an anticipated date.

Re: Sonogram to Determine Sex?
We got a sneak peak at 16wks (which was correct) and again at 19wks.
I believe they usually do the determine the sex when you have the "big u/s" which is generally around 20wks give or a take a week or two.
Ditto pps. 20 weeks is the most common "big" u/s to determine sex.
We got a ton of u/s. At 12 weeks, they guessed one of each. At 14, they guessed again at A = boy. At 16 weeks, we were confirmed with one of each. At 20 & 24 weeks, it was still one of each. I should add that we get 3d at all our appointments, so its pretty obvious what we're looking at.
Good luck! It's a tough wait!
