12 weeks - to early to order nursery furniture?

I fell in love with the Wendy Bellissimo CHerry line they sell exclusively at BRU.  I figured that when the room was ready for the nursery, I would order the furniture, likely around 5 months.  Well, I was at BRU last night and spoke to the sales representative and found out they are blowing out the whole Wendy Bellissimo line and will stop selling it after Monday.  The set typically costs 1600, with the clearance price and an additional 15% off BRU is running it would only be 1100.

So, my dilemma is, if I want it I need to order it today.  BRU is the only carrier, I looked. The pros are I love the furniture, have not seen anything I like nearly as much, and would get a great price.  The cons are it is much earlier than I planned, the nursery is not ready so will the furniture will be sitting in our spare room a bit and what if (god forbid) something goes wrong with the pg?  Any advice?

  • If I were you, I would definitely order it. It sounds like a great deal, especially if you really love this set. With my DS, I think I ordered the furniture around 15 weeks (and then of course it took a couple weeks to come in), so it was perfect timing for us, because I was ready to start putting the nursery together immediately after our 20 week ultrasound!

  • If you love it, I'd get it!  It's not a big deal to store it in a spare bedroom for a few weeks until you're ready to put the nursery together.

  • Order it!  If I were you I would, if it is a great deal and you love it.  I agree it's a little early, but you're almost out of the first trimester, so I'd say it's okay.  I wouldn't pass up an offer like that on something I loved.  You don't know that you'll be able to find it later.
  • I'd buy it now, but keep it in the packaging until later in the pregnancy if (knock on wood) something were to happen (then it wouldn't feel like it 'belonged' to the first pregnancy and you could just put it into storage until you needed it). If it's a big item, get it when you see it, or you might regret it if you can't get it later.
  • We have the same due date!!! I haven't bought any furniture yet but have been looking around. I say go for it.

  • I'd order it. I just ordered my furniture last week and it will take 8-12 weeks to come in so I figured I better order it early. It's a great deal. Think positively that everything will be just fine :)
  • It's a bargain, if you really like it then go for it.

I think I might 'join' you soon and order mine in a couple of weeks (it will take 4 to 8 weeks to get here).?
