When did you start yogurt?

If, and when did you start yogurt with your DC?

Re: When did you start yogurt?

  • We started when he was 9 months old.

  • We will start it around 9 months
  • Don't know myself as I'm not giving it to DD yet, but I've heard that Yo Baby yogurt is for 6 months and up.  I don't think regular yogurt is OK until they can have whole milk at 12 months.
  • Just started YoBaby this week.  He gets a little mixed in with his oatmeal and fruit at breakfast, and he LOVES it!

YoBaby is for babies because it is made with whole milk.  Whole milk isn't recommended in place of breastmilk or formula until 12 months.

We just recently started giving Jude yogurt, so 11 months.

  • at about 8 months
  • This last week and she can't stand it.  I keep trying thought.  This morning I mixed bananas with it.  It lasts for about 5 spoons full and then she starts spitting it out.

  • We started yogurt 2 weeks ago. My mom makes home made yogurt, and she made a big batch last time we were over. Gave some to DD, and she LOVED it. I told her pedi about it yesterday, and he said it was fine to give to her. In Super Baby Food, there is a recipe on how to make it. I think that as long as milk allergies don't run in the family, its ok to give to your DC.

  • At their 6mo appointment the Dr told us to go ahead and start. She said the probiotics it gives is good for them
  • 8 months. Pedi says the probiotics are great for digestion and can help with constipation. Make your own in the crockpot - it's easy and sooo much cheaper!
