Can't seem to find the right curtains for my living room and am thinking of sewing my own. I have access to a sewing machine, but anyone have tips or a good book/guide I can use? Thanks!!
I would buy an ubber cheap muslin and try to sew that before you try to sew the actual curtain's expensive cloth. I've been sewing all my life and it is super easy for me... but it isn't everyone's cup of tea.

No, I use it all the time. I find the only cloth easier is cotton. Most sewing teachers even teach on basic tea muslin. I'm thinking your thinking of something more sheer, not solid, like cheesecloth. That would be a pain in the a** to work with.

You can buy a pattern. Plus there are lots of options with hardware for loops and hanging and great ideas. You can totally do it.
