Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Pain in ovary during m/c?

Anyone else have pain in their ovary after a miscarriage?

Last time I had it..but I figured it was a torn muscle or hernia and went to my doctor.

Now..I am having it again, but I realize this time it must be from the miscarriage, because I had this last time right after I just didn't connect the two.

Its a tender pain, feels like a pulled muscle almost.

Re: Pain in ovary during m/c?

  • I haven't had any pains, but I do notice all the twinges a little more. I don't know if you are feeling the same thing. I've heard some girls on the TTCAL board say that they can feel when they O. Maybe that's what you are feeling. I don't really know if this helps any.

I have had pain like that when I am O'ing.  I had it for two months straight, but not the month I got pregnant.  It is even tender to the touch, usually on my right side, and lasts for 1-2 days.  One month, I was actually in the office for my pap when it was happening, and the Dr. and I talked about it.

  • It does sound like O pain. My BFP cycle, I had awful pains on my left side and my temp confirmed it.

I really don't think this is O pain..last time I had it for a few weeks..thats why I went in I thought I had gotten a small hernia possibly.

  • Oh no, if it lasts that long it's not O pain. I've had the sharp pain for a day with some lingering soreness, but not a few weeks. No, I don't know what it is then. I'm sorry.

  • i had m/c on 01/13/09 then was in so much pain went to hospital 01/19/09 and they found cysts on ovaries that formed and had to have them removed i just can't figure out with the d&c and the u/s they didn't see this before ???i don't know if that's what it is for you but it might be something to look into?
  • I had a consistant pain ad it ended up being  a cyst.  it was on one side. If it progressivly got worse.  If yours does go to the dr.
  • Similar to previous posts, I also had a cyst, and the pain was on one side.  I suggest googling Corpus Luteum cyst.  Most women get these while pregnant and they go away after the placenta develops.  But, I think for something like 10% of women, it doesn't go away like it is supposed to.  This could possibly be the cause of your pain.  GL to you, and I am sorry for your loss.
