Painting...DIY or hire someone?

in 1st Trimester

I was wondering what everyone plans on doing if they're going to decorate a nursery.  I think I want to hire someone since I just painted the 'nursery' room last year.  Does anyone know how painters work in regards to buying the paint and what not.  Do I go get the paint I want or do I just show them the colors and they go buy it?

    We painted our ourselve's last year (Baby #2 is sharing with DS for now...)

    I'm pretty sure if you hire a painter, they buy everything (most go through 1-2 dealers), bring it in and do the work. You just pay them =)

    I think every painter is different, i would call around and see what your local painters have to say.

    I am just going to paint it myself, we dont have the money to pay someone and I dont let DH paint!! I will just be keeping all windows wide open for lots of fresh air.

    We hired someone, we just told him the colors and he made it happen.

    We hired someone last year for our family room. He told us what paint brand he uses and we picked a color from that brand and gave it to him and he bought it.

    i will be painting myself probably when i am huge. i specifically want low voc paint and we don;t have the money for painters
