What kind of car seat do you have?

Talk to me about your car seats. We're going to be getting new ones with our tax refund. I have Beckham who is about 27 pounds, he'll be three in a few weeks and Holden, he's 3 months, but I would like to go ahead and purchase a regular rear/front facing car seat for him to use when he's a bit older. Thanks!

  • We have the Alpha Omega Plus (I think that's what it called). I've been totally happy with it. We got it at Costco, it was a good deal and it had good safety ratings. It converts to a booster, too, I think.

  • We have a Graco Comfort Sport. I really like it.

  • I would recommend the Alpha Omega Elite.  My parents have this one in their car for DS and it is great.  We have the Britax Decathlon, and in retrospect, I would have gone for the Alpha Omega Elite.  The Britax isn't worth the money and it doesn't accommodate for when they get older and can use the seat with a regular seatbelt, where as the other one does.

  • We have an Alpha omega elite as well. I like how there is more padding to it then most. We have a small Evenflo for DH's but that mainly for an emergency so we didn't spend that much on it.
  • We have the EvenFlo Triumph Advance (about $130 at BRU) and the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 (it is small and black). They are both great forward facing. I liked the Evenflo a lot better when I had it rear facing (it was so much sturdier), but the Eddie Bauer is not so huge.

  • The Evenflo carseats get just as high safety ratings as the Britax and they are almost half the price.  That being said we have an Evenflo Symphony and an Evenflo Triumph LX.  The Symphony is a little more because it goes all the way to a booster seat.  I also think the Symphony is a little more cushy and it reclines more so it is good for trips.  Plus, if you have a latch system it is AWESOME!  You definitely need to check it out.  I would highly recommend both of these and you can usually get them on sale at Target or BRU and use a coupon.

  • We have two Marathons. We had bought a cheap ($100) Safety 1st for my husband's car since Jack is only in it once in a blue moon. This was until I was in a car accident with my baby in our Marathon. I watched him as we were slammed into by a pickup going about 40miles per hour and he didn't budge. We immediately removed the Safety 1st and bought another Marathon for DH's car. After being in that accident I only feel comfortable with Britax. The seats never get twisted and it's a very easy seat to work with.
  • love our britax. ds has a boulevard, dd has a decathelon. perfect for our babies!  Love it. It's so much easier to use (could just be the angle of use in my brother's car) and nicer than the evenflo my neice has (I think they have the least expensive model).  A friend had a graco one that was a 3 in one type thing. I think it was rear/forward/booster.  she said it was "fine."  But she didn't really recommend it either. didn't say no but didn't really recommend it.  ?
