I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's kind words on Friday. I miscarried on Saturday. Miscarriage--chemical pregnancy--whatever you want to call it. I had some pretty bad cramps on Saturday and Sunday but I'm feeling better. Thanks again for the help and we're looking forward to trying again.
Re: Very early miscarriage
I'm very sorry for your loss.
IVF #1 = BFP!! So blessed to have our baby boy! IVF #2 = Convert to frozen - 1 frostie! IVF #3 = Convert to frozen - 1 frostie! FET #1 = 8/14, Two transferred, One stuck! Praying for another healthy miracle! Due: 5/2/13
I just had a chemical pregnancy last week. I got my bfp on 1/9/09 (11 dpo) and six days later 17dpo my hcg went down. They call this a failed intrauterine pregnancy aka chemical pregnancy.
Have you seen a doctor? I'm seeing my RE on thursday.
Chemical pregnancies are a very early miscarriage and just as cruel. You go through the same motions. You think you are pregnant and you might even celebrate because your HCG is doubling BUT somewhere along the line maybe a week or two after your AF was due - you miscarry.
So far, I have found that it either
1. chromosomal issues with the baby (we're ordering blood tests)
2. abnormal uterus (cysts, polyps, blocked tube)
3. hormones (luteal phase defect ie..low progesterone)
let me know what comes about for you. We're trying again. I'm on CD 1 just got af today. We can be cycle buddies if you'd like! I'm trying again this cycle.
oh, I ALSO forgot .. there is the rare case that your body may be clotting up where the would be placenta would get it's bloodflow so sometimes doctors prescribe baby aspirin.
This is my second chemical pregnancy. I thought the first one was a fluke. I was in the process of switching RE's because I moved and just wasn't thinking I would go through the same thing when I got my second BFP.
I know better now. Like i said before i'm seeing the RE on thursday but i've already started taking baby aspirin and started loading up on the B6 AND B12 which help with progesterone. For any of the other hard core stuff like prometrium (synthetic progesterone) and other medications I will leave up to the doctor to recommend.
