Re: Mother of two children....

  • Let me start off by saying that DH and I decided that there was no perfect double stroller out there.  We didn't want to spend a lot of money on a traditional double (Graco Duoglider) when we knew DS1 would not be long for a stroller.

We opted for a Joovy Caboose, which is a sit and stand.  It was a nice stroller, but we sold it after a month.  DS1 was 22 1/2 months when DS 2 was born and he was not ready for all that freedom.  I would leave the mall in tears.  We settled on a Baby Trend sit and stand that converts to a regular double.  We like it.  The pros are that it's essentially 2 strollers in 1, it's not too heavy, there are drink holders, the front child has a tray and the bottom storage is big enough.  The cons are that it's not comfortable for the front child to sleep in and neither seat reclines flat and the bottom storage can be hard to get to.

  • I'll have to echo korr and say there is no perfect double out there.

I love the Phil and Teds e3, but I could never push the order button because of th price.

I've had the kolcraft contours double. I liked that the kids could both face me or face each other and has the most storage room out there, IMO. It was so heavy, though.

Combi twin sport--easy to push, folds really small, but very limited storage space

Baby trend double jogger with swivel wheel--wonderful for walks, wonderful for the mall. It doesn't fit everywhere, but I don't have much trouble with it.

  • Mine are 2 yrs apart,

I have a duoglider which was great while DS was in the infant seat and a Maclaren twin triumph, lifesaver (lighter, easier to fold) when air traveling alone with them. ??

  • Ditto shopgirl except in hindsight, I wouldn't have bought the Duoglider because I only used it a handful of times.  I love the Maclaren Twin.
  • I have a phil and ted sport and a Chariot with the walking, running, biking, and infant attachments.  I do/will use the chariot for exersize and long walks, and the P&T for everything else.  My REI has the chariot double on clearance for $379.  I got the p & t for $360 with the double seat at the baby center going out of business sale.

If you can only get one stroller, I would get the mountain buggy urban double, the bumble ride, or the baby jogger city elite, pretty much in that order.  I have the single MBU and it is great!  Resale is also at least $200, so it doesn't come out to be so expensive in the end.

  • We have the Graco duoglider.  I really like it.  It's heavy and big, but it pushes really easily and was a good price for a double.  I'm very happy with it.

    DD1 - 12.25.05
    (m/c 1.17.07, m/c 5.15.07)
    DS - 03.15.08
    DD2 - 12.03.09
    DD3 - 3.28.11
  • we also have the baby trend sit and stand and I would say the same pros and cons that Korr said.
