I would really like something easy to stick to but is still healthy. I know DH will argue with me (he seems to think he's an expert on losing weight... um that's why none of your belts fit you anymore, buddy!) but I really don't think that the Slim-Fast meal plan is that bad. They have you do the shake for breakfast & lunch, but you also add veggies and other stuff to the shake to make it more balanced and give your body a little more to run on. WDYT?
Re: Has anyone used Slim-Fast?
All their new shakes use splenda (sucralose)..imo not healthy.
Why don't you try just eating healthier foods over all. Look into something like the Pritikin method. Thats what I am trying at least. Its a lifestyle change though..not a diet like slim fast or calorie counting.

My DH did the shakes a few years ago (along with exercising) and he did lose weight. After his follow up visit with his doctor, he stopped using the shakes because to doctor said his sugar was WAY higher than it should be, and the only thing they could attribute it to was the shakes. Once he stopped, his levels returned to where they had previously been.
Also, one he stopped, he also gained some of the weight back. It's a fine way to lose weight in the short term, but its not a solution to long term weight management, IMO.
Slimfast was tasty, but it wasn't really a "diet" tool for me. It was more like a lazy woman's breakfast back when I had a 1hour 15minute commute.
I'm by no means a skinny minny, but the only diet that I followed and was able to keep the lost weight off was WW. It's because it's really the only thing out there that teaches you to make healthy choices or you'll end up having to starve yourself by lunchtime because you ate too much or made bad choices for breakfast.
