I try hard not to compare DS because I totally believe that each DC develops differently. But DS will not clap or wave. I have tried encouraging him and showing him, but he just laughs. Anyone else's DC not clap or wave?
DS can do both but does not often. Never on demand. I practice with him all the time. He loves playing patty cake but wont do it on his own. And when I wave hi and bye he looks at me like I am crazy. I know he can he just doesnt.

Harmon doesn't. But I know he is bright b/c of all the other cool things he does. It was this way when Harmon was nearly 8 months and couldn't sit up but he learned to walk 3 months later! Babies just develop in thier own time and at thier own pace.

My 18 mo old claps and has for awhile, but he wont wave. He also wont point. But he makes funny faces and knows it makes you laugh, so he does them to entertain. All kids aer sooo different. It's hard not to compare though. He also didn't start walking until this month, but now he walks and almost runs. He can also walk backward which he really shouldn't be doing until 2...go figure.
DD started waving around 10 months, but she won't clap. I try to show her now and she either looks at me like I'm crazy or holds her hands together so that I can't make them clap. LOL.
DS just clapped for the first time this week and he will be 14 months next week. He waved about a month ago, but will rarely do it. Our ped. told us they were 15 month skills and though many babies do them sooner, it was not something she was worried about.....
