When did you tell work?

I still haven't and def. wasn't planning on doing it before tomorrow.  So when did you tell?

Re: When did you tell work?

  • Since I've had so many other OB appointments, I told my boss at 6 weeks, but he was very good about not telling anyone else.  I told the rest of the office after my first tri screen!  Enjoy when you tell, it's fun! Smile

  • I told my boss early on, around 6 weeks, b/c of doctor appts, I went ahead and told her.  I told everyone else at 10 weeks.

  • Will you get the results back from tomorrow right away? (I didn't do any extra screening so I don't know how it works) Why not tell them this week?

I told my boss around 12 weeks... I knew I wasn't coming back and wanted to make sure that he had enough time to fill my position if he wanted to. I worked for the state and hiring can take FOREVER!!

  • I told my boss and immediate officemates (2 of them) at 8 weeks. I did not tell the company, or HR until after my 15 week appointment.

  • I told work early--at like 9 1/2 weeks. Mostly because I was getting sick at work several times a day and my boss was really starting to wonder what was going on. Turns out he suspected and it wasn't a big deal at all!
  • I told my bosses after our 12 week ultrasound.  I told everyone else in the office around 14 weeks.
  • I wasn't planning on telling until 12 weeks.  But I told my boss around 7 weeks, after we saw the hb, because I was missing so much work for appts.  I knew I didn't HAVE to tell her, but I knew she was getting concerned and I knew she'd be excited, so I felt comfortable telling.

  • I told at 8.5 weeks after I came back from the Holidays.  I am too excited to keep my mouth closed, and so many people that I work with are good friends and wanted to share it with them.
  • I told my boss around 8-9 weeks b/c our dept was doing fiscal planning for the next year and I didn't want to commit to things I couldn't do.  I told my office mate when I told my boss, and then I told everyone else after my NT scan.
  • I told my immediate bosses at 12 weeks.

  • Between 12 and 13 weeks.
  • I told my immediate boss at 9 weeks because I had to travel and it was very likely I would be sick when he saw me and not be able to do all of the long days and late nights of work we usually do when we travel.

I just told HR last week and started my paperwork with them.?

  • I only have one co-worker and my boss works out of his home in a different city. I told both of them much earlier than planned, around 6 weeks. We were in Las Vegas and we always do big dinners with a lot of drinks/wine, so I told them (my co-worker was pregnant too). I couldn't "fake" trying to drink the whole trip. so we had to tell. I think I told all my bottlers/clients around 14 weeks.
  • i dont plan on telling for as long as possible since i have a good feeling that it will make my employment days numbered.  i know its "illegal" and all but they would play it off as layoffs and i dont want to give them any reason to put my job in jeopardy until i absolutely have to!

  • I told at 16 weeks and started showing at 17 weeks.  I was cutting it close!

  • I told around 7/8 weeks. I wanted to wait at least until my first u/s with the RE. I think if I wasn't a nurse I would've waited until after the 1st tri, but I work with infectious patients on occasion and didn't really want to be exposed.
