What can I do with pork chops?

They had them buy 1 get 1 free at the store... so I now have two packs of them. But I have never eaten nor cooked a pork chop. Help me!

  • I'm German. Show me a pork chop, I'll show you a wiener schnitzel.

I also like to pan-saute them with fennel, onion, apple and raisins. Also, marinated with olive oil, cumin and steak seasoning, then topped with a mixture of corn, black beans and salsa.

And then breaded and baked with sausage gravy.

And stuffed with apple/celery bread stuffing.

Grilled and basted with melted apple jelly. Or apple jelly mixed with barbecue sauce.

  • Good Lord Lori!!  Now you're making *me*  want to go out and buy pork chops!!

I just had a chili dog for dinner.... feeling very very un-gourmet right now.  But I'm full and happy.

  • Boneless pork chop??! I was just in your same boat, a great deal so I bought them not knowing the first thing to do with them.

Go to Rachel Ray website and look up her recipe for Pork Chops with Cherry Pan gravy. SOOOOO GOOD! I had my parents over and fixed these, big hit...I plan to do them again with blackberries

  • Boneless pork chops is all we buy!  I really dont like meat on the bone!

  • Honey-Lime Pork Chops

1/3 cup GREY POUPON Savory Honey Mustard.
    1 tsp. grated lime peel.
    2 Tbsp. lime juice.
    2 cloves garlic, minced.
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce.

(We ate this last night at a friends house.  They cooked it on the stove top and used 8 chops; it worked really well.  The 1/2 cup of sauce was not reserved.)

Preheat grill to med-high heat.  Mix mustartd, lime peel, lime juice, garlic and soy sauce until well blended.  Remove 1/2 cup of hte mixture; set aside.

Grill chop 16 minutes or until cooked through, turning and rushing occasionally with remaining mustard mixture.

Serve with the reserved 1/2 cup mustard mixtrue.

I hate mustard with a passion and I could not taste it at all.  It was more like eating a chop marinated in lime juice.  So delicious!

  • easiest way I make them is dumping applesauce on them and baking them.
  • I brown them in a pan and top them with an apricot glaze (just apricot preserves heated with a little water)... so easy and DH LOVES it!

  • Preheat oven to 350.. spray a 9x13 pan (4 servings)

In one bowl mix 1 sleeve of crushed ritz crackers, 3 Tbsp Parmesean Cheese, salt/pepper

In another mix together 1 egg, beaten and 1/2 cup of milk

Dredge the porkchops in the egg mixture and then coat in the cracker mixture

Bake for 30-35 minutes turning once.

  • Another really easy one is (4 servings)

    Preheat to 350

Heat 1tbsp of oil over med high heat in a pan.  Add porkchops and heat until brown (2 min) then flip and brown the other side

In a bowl... mix 1/2 package of dry onion soup mix, 1 can of  cream of mushroom soup and 1 can (10.5) oz of water.

Place porkchops in the 9x13 dish and cover with mixture

     Cook for 1 1/2 hours

You can add mushrooms and onions to the mixture if desired

  • The great thing about pork chops, is that they are similar to chicken. You can do ANYTHING with them. Just get creative.

I throw mine in a pan with some italian dressing and cook them that way. Or Shake & Bake. Or Stuffed pork chops or throw some honey dijon mustard on top (yummy)!

  • I put some olive oil and Essence seasoning, then top with cherry peppers, bake about 25 minutes. so good and easy

  • My DH does an awesome Cajun Pork Chop Sauce Piquante...

But all I can think about right now is Talladega Nights..."Shake AND Bake!!"

  • Super easy to make Salsa Chops:

    1T vegetable oil

    1 1/2 c. salsa

    4 pork chops

    salt and pepper to taste

Season pork chops to taste.  Heat oil in skillet.  Cook pork chops on one side, medium-high heat, for 3-4 minutes, until brown.  Turn over, add salsa, bring to a boil, and simmer for 8-10 minutes.  We usually serve w/ rice and veggies.  Yummy!!

Got this recipe from www.theotherwhitemeat.com.  They have lots of pork recipes.
