So, our ILs gave us an old toy box that used to be DH's when he was little.  They never got around to painting it and I actually want to do it.  I was thinking a Dr. Seuss theme.  Here's the question: What kind of paint do I use?!  Do I get stuff at Michaels or Hobby Lobby or do I need wall paint from Home Depot?

    You can get it at any of the above stores.  Just make sure it is paint/stain for wood.  Is you DH ok with you painting his toy box?

    Oh ya!  He wants me too.  It will look better than it does now...Lol!  It's pretty sad looking all bare.

    I am dying to paint a table that belonged to DH's grandpa.  He refuses to even let me touch it.  It is in BAD shape and need TLC.

    Maybe if you took him to help pick out paint or stain.  Talk him into the one you want, then he thinks it was his idea.  Lol!

    It is his night stand. It was made by his grandpa and dad.  FIL was a child and he helped stain it.  I think it has sentimental value to DH.  As long as it is not in the LR or a room to be seen by others I am not going to fight.

    Picking the battles is what makes me win!  DH knows if I am going to argue over it, then it means enough to me for him to give in.  I am not going to fight if I know I will not win.

    Make sure that you put a clearcoat over it to protect it when your done painting it!! you can use the spraycan kind, thats what I use and I redo a lot of furniture!
