Nope. I tried to check something on the stove one time while I was wearing DS, even when he was much much smaller, and it just didn't feel right...I tried to keep myself turned sideways and reach my hand way out so he'd be as far away as possible. It probably looked pretty funny! ) Anyways, I usually put him on his play mat or in his high chair if I need to cook while he's awake.
I do while I'm gathering ingredients, stirring, etc. I put her down when I use the stove or knives. She's too grabby for me to wear her while doing those tasks.
I'll chop up ingredients and prepare things while wearing DS. I wear him in the Moby facing inward and 99% of the time he is asleep so he's not reaching for things. If I need to put something in the oven, I will ask DH to do it. I haven't cooked on the stovetop while wearing him yet. I'd be nervous that I would burn his little butt since he sticks out so far in front of me.
Yeah, sometimes. I wear him front-facing in the Beco. Mostly he just likes to cuddle me when he's in there. I don't do like, full-blown chopping or pulling hot things out of the oven, but stirring, mixing, seasoning, sauteeing.
Its kind of a must in our house. We're a super busy family. But, now that he's getting bigger, he enjoys sitting in his high chair and watching me cook and playing with measuring cups and things, too. So, that works out well.
