ear wax?

We need to get ear wax out of DD's ear so the Dr. can do a recheck of her ear infection next week.  Anyone have any recommendations?

Re: ear wax?

  • Our pedi recommended Debrox ear drops. they are OTC. It's a thick liquid and we are to use a couple drops at night and kind of rub his ear to make sure it goes in. It just helps the fine hairs in the ear move the wax out.

  • Your pedi should have this little shepherd's hook thingy that scoops out amazing amounts of wax.  I wish I could remember the name.
  • We have two weeks to go before our ear infection re-check. :) My pedi recommended a baking soda solution -- two teaspoons baking soda in 10 teaspoons of water. I bought a dropper, put a few drops in each ear and just let it run out.??

  • I was told never to try to get it out. The pedi does it with that little hook thing.
  • Our pedi just told us last week to let the warm soapy water from her bath get in DDs ears and that should help clean them out.
