sippy cup questions

I have been trying to give N the sippy cup for a while now, I've tried water, juice and formula in the cup.  She likes to play with the cup but only chews on the spout, won't suck out of it.  So she gets frustrated with the lack of fluid and gives up.

I've been trying the avent cups and the nuby cups...any other recos?

Or am I just trying too soon and that's why she isn't getting it?

    Have you tried the one with the soft straw?  It isn't like a regular straw because they have to suck pretty hard to get liquid out of it, but so far my N likes it a lot (she's only had water in it).

    I'm going to Target today, so I'll see if they have that one, she likes to drink water from my straw when we're out...so that might work.

    We haven't had any major success, but D seems to prefer the Born Free sippy over the Nuby.

    We had the same issues with Jack when we introduced the sippy cup.  Then we found the nuby Sport sippy cup.  The spout part is longer and I think that helped her get a handle on what she needed to do to get her juice/milk/water/etc.

    I got the little 4 oz trainer sippy at target that has a pack of six or something and are disposable supposedly. Katie is taking to them well. I think Katie and Natalie are about 1 day apart in age. Anyway it took a while for her to take to them but she is progressing with it. takes a little and just water in them so far.
