Hey ladies. I'm new to the board...just found out I was pregnant a week ago. I'm really early in (doctor estimates 2 weeks). My husband and I are really excited about the baby. The past 2 weeks I've had cramping and light spotting (I thought I was getting my period and when I didn't, went to the doctor and found out about the pregnancy). Then, this thursday I had a little bright red blood and the past few days a little bit of brownish blood when I go to the bathroom. We went back to the doctor on Thursday fearing a miscarriage. The doctor took some blood and sent it to the lab for some tests. We were supposed to find out the results yesterday, but now won't hear until Monday. I'm really hoping things are ok. Has anyone else experienced this?
Re: Worried and no answers until Monday
Yes, I have:
1-- just so you know, the pregnancy I lost involved NO spotting or bleeding-- the miscarriage was discovered via u/s.
2-- at 8 weeks with Jack, I had brown spotting. Then at 9 weeks, I started gushing blood horribly, enough for a transfusion. But it was NOT a miscarriage. Instead, it was a subchorionic hematoma-- roughly, a tear in the placenta. Sometimes they are serious, usually not-- mine was. I spent 4 months on bedrest with a happy ending! I hope it will be the same for you. Good luck.
I had brown spotting with both of my pregnancies (both healthy). Spotting is pretty common and I think I read that about 50% of the people who spot end up having no problems, but unfortunately there's no way to know which 50% you're in at the time
Hang in there, and hopefully you'll get some good news soon.?
And for the sake of?consistency?(both on this board and in the Drs office) pregnancy is usually counted from the first day of your last period, so if you found out you were pregnant a week ago, you are probably 5 weeks pregnant right now at the earliest. Best of luck.
Oh, no!! Please find a new Dr! Not all Drs are like this. You should never feel like they're rushing you or leaving you without info you want or need. Personally, I would recommend a midwife because (in general) they take care of these needs much better than OBs do. Not always true, of course, on average
I had cramping & spotting at 5.5 wks. Went to the ER on a Sat. & HCG levels were good. I went to my doc the following Monday, and an U/S reveled a small tear in the placenta. I had a couple more U/S's early on, and they checked my HCG levels every other day for a week. It was scary, but eveything turned out fine.

Hop over to the mc/pl board if you want more responses, they're really helpful.
I was much further along than 2 weeks but had no probs and had seen the healthy hb. ?I started spotting brown very light, that lasted 2 days and then went away for 4 days, then came back as pink and within 48 hours it was heavy bleeding. ?In my case I m/c. ?Hopefully you won't have the same outcome but the girls over on that board might have more stories to tell about that sort of thing.
My doctor said LOTS of healthy pregnancies have bleeding at some point.
With my loss I had none - I had no idea we lost the baby until the 2nd u/s when the hb was no longer there.
Hi, I just wanted to say try not to worry to much, I had red and brown spotting and craping with this pregnancy I was real upset till I saw the baby's heart beat, all is well now. I know it's not easy to do, but try to relax every pregnancy is different and everyone is different.?
Best of luck to you, I pray everything goes well for you. ?
