Aww, you have an Oma, too? Are you Dutch or German? Both my parents were conceived in Holland, but born here. One grandma totally wanted to live the American way and wanted nothing to do with being "Oma", but Oma still loves everything Dutch (at 96 YO, nonetheless
as I sit here gnawing on my Droste puur chocolade letter A from Oma, I mean Sinterklaas.
In fact, when I couldn't think of a screen name many moons ago, my friend asked who is someone I really respected... I said Oma, so we combined it with my name, hence the omangie. Anywho, sorry to bore ya, just thought I'd share. Have a good night!

That's so cool...not boring at all! I love the stories behind screen names (they're usually more interesting than mine).
I have an Oma (German), but she adopted me and my husband after we worked at her son's wedding, so no actual relation. The first time I met her was when she was handing out the slippers (aka Oma booties), and we've been family ever since. She's a fabulous cook, can create those booties in no time with her eyes closed, and has such amazing stories of growing up during WWII. She introduced us to asbach chocolates and quite a few other ways to enjoy alcohol
I know those letters! They're so yummy, but I only get them during Christmas from our little Dutch Bakery in Marysville.

oh, how sweet! All of my friends call her Oma too, so you don't have to be related
I've worn many many a pair of those slippers, too! I like it when she sews on flannel on the bottom so they last longer.
Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!
