Applejuice for constipation

DS is really constipated from his soy formula.  I am going to give him some juice but was wondering if I could put it in the bottle with the formula.  It shouldn't matter right?

Re: Applejuice for constipation

  • For consitpation I do .5 oz of prune juice in a bottle by itself.  Works like a charm...

  • My DS is on a very constipating formula for reflux so we give him 1-2 oz of juice every day and I do put it in a bottle of formula. I use Gerber apple/prune or pear. plain apple doesnt seem to work for us.

  • lol the last time we did the Applejuice thing we lost a onesie. She needs some again & DH is scared. She only had about 1/2oz as well & WOW what a blow out.

  • I usually just steam some apples and give them to him.. works well!
  • pear juice works, too! we used to give l a bottle with 2oz prune/pear and 2oz water.

  • I was always a BFing mommy but once my kids started solid food they got really constipated if they didn't have juice. I couldn't mix it in with milk or anything but I started with an oz or 2 and worked up from there until they were flowing properly. DS is too old for me to worry about it now but DD has to have it daily or else she is clogged again. I just use regular baby apple juice. The white grape and pear doesnt seem to work as well for us.
